Heroin Epidemic in Vermont (19 images)

Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin devoted his entire state of the state address in January to what he called a "full-blown heroin crisis" in Vermont, where twice as many people died of heroin overdoses in 2012 as in the year before. Mr. Shumlin's address focused new attention on the problem, which has hit every corner of the state.
These images reflect the effect that the heroin epidemic is having on the community.
